Dan Levy is all set to start cooking up something new. And yes, it involves a lot of, well, cooking!

The 38-year-old Schitt’s Creek star is taking on a new project. He will be hosting The Big Brunch, an unscripted cooking competition show for HBO Max.

The Hollywood Reporter dished on the project, stating:

“[The Big Brunch will] see chefs offered the chance to share their stories and business dreams while going head-to-head for a ‘life-altering prize’ all while finding innovative ways to redefine what it means to dine between 11AM and 3PM.”

The Big Brunch is slated for a 2022 release. Dan will also serve as executive producer of the series.

Sounds like a ton of delicious entertainment is coming our way!

In other Dan Levy scoop, the actor has revealed that he was under so much stress while shooting the final season of Schitt’s Creek — so much so that he actually had to wear a neck brace!

In his cover story for British GQ, Dan opened up on how he had struggled with anxiety as Schitt’s Creek got bigger and bigger, and that there was so much anxiety and stress coursing through him that he couldn’t move his neck anymore! He shared:

“Because the anxiety in my neck was so bad I couldn’t move it. At one point there was an acupuncturist and a chiropractor coming to set every day at lunch to work on my neck so that I could actually perform and not, you know, look like I needed a neck brace.”

Schitt’s Creek wrapped earlier this year after a successful six-season run. Dan is now working on a gay romantic comedy. He says of this project:

“I’ve always wanted to make [a rom-com]. I’ve always wanted to be in one. As a gay person, you don’t ever get that kind of opportunity.

You get to play the zany friend of Pepe the coworker. So I’m really excited and honored to have that opportunity: to put a gay person front and center in a romcom.”

Yet another Dan Levy project we’re very excited for!
