Demi Lovato’s fiancé, Max Ehrich, has been getting some heat from fans after his alleged old tweets about Demi and Selena Gomez resurfaced.

There were alleged tweets from 2015 pretty much made The Young And The Restless actor appear to be majorly crushing on Selena years ago – and seemingly dissing Demi at the time.

“Hahaha selena gomez and demi are cute together [sic] but boy if you think demi is prettier…you’re WRONG!” Max allegedly tweeted.

And another tweet reportedly read: “There’s a female singer that screams so much, that’s why my girl S is better than you know who.”

Other fans have also shared fans screenshots of some of Max’s comments seemingly gushing about Selena and other stars like Ariana Grande, Gigi Hadid, and more from before he and Demi got together.

When Demi and Max first got engaged, there were also some fans who said that Max tweeted, “I’m going to marry @selenagomez,” back in August of 2018, then later deleted them. Some also pointed out that Demi and Max got engaged on Selena’s birthday – which also happens to be Demi’s former anniversary with ex-boyrfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

Max has since deleted his Twitter account so it would be hard to verify the alleged past tweets.

ICYMI, Demi and Selena were childhood pals – going all the way back to their Barney & Friends days. But Demi recently opened up the two of them drifting apart.

Earlier this year, Demi told Harper’s Bazaar that she is no longer friends with Selena.

“When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them,” Demi began her response when asked about Selena’s Grammys 2020 tribute to her.

“But I’m not friends with her, so it felt …” Demi stopped herself, and said, “I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.”

On Sunday (September 13), Demi went on Instagram Story with a statement and appeared to address Max’s alleged old tweets, telling fans and media to stop creating fake drama and focus on the issues that really matter.

“It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other. If women have conflict that’s between them NOT YOU. Secondly, don’t y’all have more important s–t to write about in 2020??? I challenge any tabloid that dares to type my name to mention Breonna Taylor and the fact that her murderers still haven’t been arrested. WRITE ABOUT THAT,” Demi’s statement began.

“But then I stop and think.. it’s hella rude but d–n.. I get it. And I don’t wanna look at what’s really happening in the world either but WE HAVE TO,” she continued. “Yes, it’s easier to tear apart celebrities and their relationships because 2020 sucks and scares the s–t out of us all but it’s only gonna stay terrifying until we address it all and WORK ON SOLUTIONS TOGETHER.”

“So while on one hand I understand and have compassion for those who are so horrified at the reality of 2020 that they gotta distract themselves with doctored images in order to not focus on how bad these times are—but on the other hand, if you aren’t 13 years old trying to grasp the reality of right now, put on your adult underpants and write about what actually matters. Please,” she wrote.
