Justin Bieber had fans in a frenzy on Monday (July 19) after his Instagram post caused fans to speculate there might be a baby Bieber on the way.
Sharing a black-and-white photo of him and wife Hailey, he captioned it, “mom and dad.”
Some thought was a hint that Hailey was pregnant and fans hopped on the comments section with reactions like:
“Wait what? MOM AND DAD?!”
“Baby on the way?”
“YALL having kids?!😂”
Hailey soon cleared up the speculations with a comment of her own.
“I think u should maybe change this caption to *Dog Mom and Dad* before anyone gets it twisted,” the 24-year-old model wrote on her husband’s post, along with a laughing emoji face.
Justin and Hailey tied the knot in a New York City courthouse in September of 2018, and said “I do” again in front of friends and family in Sep While they’re both looking forward to starting a family of their own, the couple are in no rush.
“I love kids, and I can’t wait to have my own,’” she told Vogue Arabia in November 2018. “I would say that now that’s a closer reality.”
Justin has also opened up about it on Instagram as far back as 2019.
“Love dates with you baby..,” he wrote alongside a photo of him and his wife at Disney World, Florida at the time. “one day Ill be doing daddy daughter dates….. not hinting at anything soon I’m not in a rush. I just wanna enjoy you by yourself for a while! [sic].”
As for how many kids they want to have, Justin told Ellen DeGeneres in March of last year, “I think it’s up to Hailey because it’s her body.”
He talked about it again during another appearance on Ellen in December.
“I’m going to have as many as Hailey is wishing to push out,’ the popstar said. ‘I’d love a little tribe but it’s her body and whatever she wants to do.”
When asked what they were waiting for before having kids, Justin explained, “There’s not really an issue but I think Hailey still has some things she wants to accomplish as a woman and I think she just is not ready yet and I think that’s ok.”
Hailey has also had to shut down pregnancy speculations in the past.
In Thanksgiving 2019, rumors began swirling that the Hailey might be pregnant after a paparazzi photo of her with her hand on her stomach made headlines.
“The internet is funny! No, I’m not pregnant. I just really love food,” she wrote on Instagram Story at the time.
In November of last year, amid the US presidential elections, she also called out a tabloid that she claimed was about to publish a report that suggests she’s pregnant.
“I’m not pregnant so please stop writing stories from your ‘sources’ and focus on what’s important, aka the election,” she wrote on her IG Story.
