There’s been a rumor going around that actor Ryan Gosling once tried out for the Backstreet Boys. So the question is: Did he really?

In a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the men of BSB finally got a chance to address those rumors.

AJ McLean revealed on Tuesday’s (February 11) episode that they lived in the same apartment complex back when BSB was just starting out. They also hung out and played basketball together, which may have been how the rumor started.

But, no, Ryan didn’t actually try out to be a Backstreet Boy – AJ says Ryan even had some reservations about the group even making it to the big leagues.

“I told him that Backstreet Boys is gonna be huge and he’s like, ‘It’s not gonna happen. New Kids [on the Block] did their thing, you know, whatever,'” AJ said. “Cut to, he was wrong.”

They also addressed another thing that fans have been wondering about – BSB has been together for over 25 years, and fans have been wondering why they still haven’t dropped a Christmas album!

According to Nick Carter, the group is in negotiations with their label to try and get one for their fans.

“That’s one of the only things left on the bucket list that we’ve not done,” Kevin Richardson added. “We all love Christmas music and we have families. Yeah, we need to make it, we need to make it happen.”

Then, he doubled down and got even more assertive about it. “It’s gonna happen. It’s happening. You’re not gonna have to wait more than a year,” he told the host.

Although they still haven’t agreed on anything, it looks like the guys are totally down to make one. Fingers crossed that means we’re getting a BSB Christmas album later this year!
