Country queen, Dolly Parton spreads Christmas cheer with the help of her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus on latest holiday album, A Holly Dolly Christmas. Collaborative song, “Christmas Is,” makes listeners reminisce on memories with friends and family during the holiday season. Although the stars couldn’t record the duet together due to COVID precautions, Miley shared her excitement collaborating with her godmother with Jimmy Fallon on his show, another featured performer on the album, saying, “Only for Dolly do you sing a Christmas carol in your kitchen in the middle of July.”
Christmas is a time for caring / Being at your best / Christmas is a time for sharing / Knowing you’ve been blessed,” Parton and Cyrus sing. “Christmas is a time for giving / Love is made of this / That’s what Christmas is.
Reflecting on what Christmas means to them, Miley and Dolly remind listeners to be thankful for the “kindness, love and compassion” that fills people’s hearts during the holidays.
The collaboration is one of six on the album, featuring star-studded guests, Willie Nelson, Michael Bublé and many others.
