It’s been three and a half years since the infamous scandal involving actor Dominic West and actress Lily James rocked headlines. Now, in a rare move, Dominic is shedding light on the aftermath of those PDA-filled photos that sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.
In October 2020, Dominic and Lily were spotted sightseeing together in Rome, where they engaged in some rather intimate moments, including Dominic kissing Lily’s neck. The paparazzi had a field day capturing their every move, even catching them cuddling at the airport just one day later.

“I hesitate to speak on my wife’s behalf because it was obviously horrible, particularly for her. But we do joke about it sometimes,” Dominic shared, offering a glimpse into the complexities of navigating a public scandal within a marriage.
He continued, shedding light on the surreal experience of being scrutinized by the press even in mundane moments: “Whenever we went out together, the papers would always say we were ‘putting on a show of unity’. Even if we’d just been rowing about parking the car or whatever, even if that couldn’t be further from the truth. And so when we go out we do sort of say, ‘Shall we go and have a show of unity up in London?’”
Reflecting on the rollercoaster of emotions during that time, Dominic admitted, “It was an absurd situation. It was deeply stressful for my wife and my kids, but there were lighter moments. That was the best that came out of it, really.”
Meanwhile, Lily James, who found herself at the center of the storm, opted to remain tight-lipped when asked about the scandal in a May 2021 interview. “Ach, I’m not really willing to talk about that. There is a lot to say, but not now, I’m afraid,” she said, gracefully sidestepping the topic.
