Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks… and as Dwayne Johnson has just shown, it’s also a time for giving. And boy, did he give.
DJ had a ton of amazing surprises for his fans for Thanksgiving, and they were all absolutely epic. He shared it all on Instagram and his story definitely spread cheer and goodwill and love to all.
It started the day before Thanksgiving. DJ invited fans to a special screening of his new Netflix film, Red Notice — and he showed up to join them! He made sure to treat his fans to free concessions too.
“Today was a good day. I invited fans to a special theater screening of RED NOTICE and I wanted to do something cool for all of them. Free concessions, @projectrock, @teremana, @zoaenergy, @saltandstraw ice cream. Free everything and a great time at the movies!”
He went on to state that he wanted to do more:
“I also wanted to do something BIG… something MASSIVE… something unforgettable for one fan.”
So what did he do? Well, he gave his personal truck to a fan, Oscar Rodriguez:
“My original idea was to give away the Porsche Taycan, that I drive in the movie, Red Notice. So we reached out to Porsche, but they said no. But I still said, yes 😉 I’ll do one better. I’ll give away my personal custom truck as the gift. My baby.”
DJ recounted how he chose the fan:
“I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar’s story moved me. Takes care of his 75 year old mom. Personal trainer. Leader at his church. Provides support and meals for women victimized by domestic violence. Proud & humble Navy veteran. Kind human being.
Oscar said it right, just before he drove away ~ it’s just love. That’s all it is, brother. Just love. Go enjoy your new truck dude and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!”
Just love indeed.
The following day, on Thanksgiving, DJ uploaded a video of himself surprising fans who were on a Hollywood Homes tour bus.:
“A lil’ Thanksgiving Star Tour Bus surprise… Have you guys seen my house yet? No. Cool, keep it that way 🤣✌🏾 Happy Thanksgiving you guys, enjoy my hood and I’m gonna get after this workout 🏋🏽♂️ before we feast 🦃 🍽.”
