Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have just welcomed a new Beverly Hills acquisition to their real estate portfolio!

The pair closed the deal on a classical mid-century modern towards the end of last month. The estate was bought by Ellen and Portia for $8.3 million.

The famous celebrity couple’s new property is a house built in 1964. Designed by architect Robert Skinner, the home has been dubbed the “Rowan Residence” and has been photographed by Google Architecture chronicle Julius Shulman, who featured it in his book, Modernism Rediscovered.

The Beverly Hills residence was meticulously restored before being put on the market this year. The stunning abode boasts of terrazzo floors, furniture-grade Dougles fir cabinetry, redwood cladding, and countertops in contrasting marble. The renovations transformed the common area into a mid-century living style dream: Unpretentious, community-oriented, a tad cerebral, and with an openness and warmth to it. The courtyard is a gorgeous architectural merging of existing flora and a mature tree into the estate’s design.

Ellen and Portia’s new property also has a lovely living room with corner fireplace and corner glass, an exquisite master bedroom with a freestanding modernist fireplace, and a standout galley kitchen with new floor to ceiling cabinetry and an attached day room that comes with a breakfast booth and Dutch door.

The mid-century modern stands on a .42 acre lot full of living and dining areas, gardens, asn a pool.

Ellen’s daytime television show kicks off its 19th and final season this month.

Along with wife Portia, Ellen has bought and sole more than 20 properties since 2003.
