Elon Musk and Grimes have expanded their family.

The 33-year-old musician, real name Claire Elise Boucher, revealed that she and Elon, 50, have welcomed their second child together.

Grimes shared the joyful news in a new Vanity Fair cover story. She was first hesitant to discuss it, saying:

“I’m not at liberty to speak on these things. Whatever is going on with family stuff, I just feel like kids need to stay out of it, and X is out just there.”

However, Grimes did go on to reveal details about their family, sharing that they secretly welcomed a daughter whom they call Y. Y was born via surrogate back in December:

“Her full name is Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.”

She expounded on the baby’s unique name, saying that Exa refers to the supercomputing term exaFLOPS, which is the ability to perform 1 quintillion floating-point operations per second. Dark, she says, represents “the unknown,” adding:

“People fear it but truly it’s the absence of photons. Dark matter is the beautiful mystery of our universe.”

Sideræl, pronounced “sigh-deer-ee-el,” is, according to Grimes, “a more elven” spelling of “sidereal,” meaning “the true time of the universe, star time, deep space game, not out relative earth time.” This name is also a nod to her favorite character in Lord of the Rings, Galadrie.

When asked about the status of their relationship, Grimes said of her and Elon:

“There’s no real word for it. I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’ve best friends. We see each other all the time… We just have out own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.”

She stated that things between them are “the best it’s ever been” and that they are planning to have more kids:

“We’ve always wanted at least three or four.”

But just after the Vanity Fair cover story was released, Grimes took to Twitter to make some clarifications regarding her relationship with Elon:

“Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article haha, but he’s my best friend and the love of my live, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story rly well. Sique – peace out.”
