Gwen Stafani has something to say about Blake Shelton being called her husband.
Dua Lipa took over hosting duties on Monday’s (August 10) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! And aside from dishing some deets about herself – i.e. Dua Lipa IS her real name; she has 17 tattoos; and it’s literally her first time to interview celebrities AND deliver a talk show monologue – she also got to chat with Gwen Stefani, who is one of her collaborators on the remix of her single “Physical.”
At one point, Dua asked Gwen about quarantine life amid the coronavirus pandemic – the No Doubt front woman has spent much of it on Blake Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma. During their convo, Dua mistakenly referred to Blake as Gwen’s husband.
“Well he’s not my husband, but that sounded cool when you said it,” Gwen responded.
But the 50-year-old singer opened up about life on the ranch.
“We had, like, 15 people,” Gwen said. ” It was really actually a lot of fun at first. All the sudden work is over and you just get to indulge on being on this ranch. Every day was a new thing. Like, ‘A baby armadillo today!’ Or ‘We got baby wild hogs!’ Everything turned into, like, learning how to cook sourdough bread like everybody else in the world. We just had a lot of fun.”
They also tackled some random questions, where Dua asked Gwen if she’s ever forgetten her lyrics onstage (or course, yes); her most annoying trait according to Blake (being on her phone); if she’s ever seen a ghost (her son did); and celebrities she’s been mistaken for (Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera).
But that’s not all people are talking about. Audiences have remarked that Dua handled her guest hosting gig with flying colors – and totally pulled off going undercover to chat with seniors who, apparently, have no idea who she is, and ask them what they thought of her music and fashion sense.
