Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston can hold a masterclass on how friendly fellow exes is definitely a thing.
Over the weekend, Jen took home the SAG Award for Female Actor in a Drama Series for her work on The Morning Show. And, of course, who wouldn’t be excited about that?
Her The Morning Show co-star, Reese Witherspoon, was “over the moon,” and celebrated her win with a post on Instagram.
“Over the moon with excitement that @jenniferaniston was recognized by her fellow actors for her work on @themorningshow! I feel really honored that I got to see this performance up close and in person. So happy for you, my sister!!” she captioned a photo of Jen holding her trophy.
After her big win, Jen also went on Instagram to share photos of herself rolling up to the awards show and the aftermath of the event.
“No wrinkles… harder than it looks! Somewhere between these two photos, my peers gave me a gift I will cherish and a night I will never forget. Thank you @sagawards, @themorningshow, and our incredible cast and crew. Let’s get back to work!” she captioned her post.
And because Jen is just plain awesome, tons of people hopped on the comments section to congratulate her – including her famous friends.
Allison Janney wrote that Jen was “so deserving” and “looked gorgeous.”
Her Friends co-star, Courteney Cox, wrote, “So proud of you! And you’re gorgeous.”
“We are so happy for you!!!!!” Rita Wilson commented.
“Long time coming,” Octavia Spencer added.
Chelsea Handler, Mario Lopez, Martha Hunt and Mindy Kaling and more also congratulated her.
Gwyneth also showed her support for the actress, writing, “So deserved,” alongside a pink heart emoji.
Gwyneth used to date Brad Pitt in the late 90s and even got engaged before they split. Jen, on the other hand, was married to Brad from 2000-2005. But it looks like these ladies haven’t let their previous relationship with the same guy stop them from forming a friendship – and they definitely don’t have any problems being in the same room together, like at the Golden Globes and when GP and Brad both attended Jen’s 50th birthday bash.
Jen also made headlines when she reunited with Brad backstage after accepting her award – and all the photos seriously had fans swooning.
Brad actually watched her accept the award from a screen backstage – and legit went “Wow!” as she gave her speech.
And, when asked about it later, Jen couldn’t believe that that happened.
“No! Psh,” she told ET Canada in disbelief.
She also opened up that the support she’s gotten – including Brad’s – is a big deal for her, especially since it came from her peers.
“It means everything, we all grew up together, this whole room,” she said. “That’s why their performances just move me and excite me and allow me to be here. It’s fantastic. We’re part of a community together and now we get to get back to work. We’re up at 4 and we’re there for 16 hours and we rinse and repeat, and it’s a lot of work so it’s nice to have a night where you get to dress up and celebrate each other and go back to the hair and makeup truck, learn your monologues.”
