The Country Music Association has released the official nominees for the 2020 CMA Awards!

On Thursday (September 1), this year’s slate was announced — and it was accompanied by a little bit of a disclaimer: The pandemic hit the Globe in March, so many tours were cancelled and music releases delated. This means that artists who would have been eligible for awards this year had sets or singles pushed through will now get an early start instead for next year’s awards.

The bright side: One advantage however is that the CMA Awards’ eligibility period for this year is from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. So unlike some other awards shows, only one fourth of the eligibility period was affected by the COVID 19 lockdown.

But of course, because everything still has been affected, there are quite a number of surprises —- not to mention snubs! Check out the complete list of nominees for the 2020 CMA Awards… and see if your faves made the cut.
