Joey King spilled the beans on her not-so-typical wedding journey during a recent chat on The Drew Barrymore Show. The 24-year-old actress, who said “I do” to Steven Piet in a breathtaking ceremony in Mallorca, Spain, in September 2023, revealed that their nuptials were actually a double feature!
“We got married in Spain, me and my husband. And in order for it to be legal that we got married in Spain we had to get married in the States first,” Joey explained, shedding light on the unconventional twist to their love story.
Their stateside wedding affair was a low-key yet memorable affair, with Joey recounting the fun-filled day with a touch of nostalgia. “So, we got my family together, we went to this place called Same Day Marriage in Laurel Canyon and then we went bowling afterwards with my family, then we just bar crawled together, and my grandma was there the whole time which was so much fun.”
Adding to the charm of the occasion, Joey’s We Were The Lucky Ones co-star Logan Lerman chimed in, sharing his fond memories of the Mallorca celebration. “I mean look, you’re just good vibes as a person and you radiate good vibes. And your family and Steven‘s family, we just had the best time,” he remarked, reflecting on the infectious energy that permeated the festivities.
