The Jonas Brothers had to break some unfortunate news to their fans just hours before they were set to rock the stage in Mexico City as part of The Tour. In an Instagram video, Nick Jonas, barely able to speak due to his illness, shared the disappointing update.

“I have some not-so-fun news to share,” Nick, 31, began, clearly struggling with his voice. “A couple of days ago, I started feeling kind of rough, lost my voice when I had woken up, and grinded that night out to be able to play the show in Cancun.”

But it seems Nick’s condition took a turn for the worse. He revealed that he’s been laid up in bed, battling a fever, body aches, and a sore throat. A doctor’s diagnosis confirmed his suspicions: Influenza A.

“Got to the decision this morning that it’s not gotten any better and… I’m not going to be able to get out on stage tonight and play these shows down in Mexico City and Monterrey,” Nick shared, his disappointment palpable. “I just need to recover and beat this thing. I’m so sorry, I hate disappointing you guys.”

It’s clear from Nick’s heartfelt apology that he’s genuinely saddened by the turn of events. He acknowledges the dedication of their fans, many of whom had traveled far and wide to catch their show. “I just wanted to say I’m just heartbroken over this,” Nick confessed.

Originally slated to perform in Mexico City on May 3 and 4, followed by shows in Monterrey on May 6 and 7, the Jonas Brothers had to postpone all four dates. However, they swiftly arranged new dates for their Mexican fans. The Mexico City concerts are now rescheduled for August 21 and 22, while the Monterrey shows will take place on August 24 and 25.

Nick concluded his message with a heartfelt expression of love and gratitude to their loyal supporters, promising to return “back and healthy ASAP.” It’s a tough blow for both the Jonas Brothers and their fans, but it’s clear that Nick’s health comes first, and his hope for a swift recovery is echoed by fans around the world.
