Willow Smith surprised her mom, Jada Pinkett, by reuniting Jada’s old band, Wicked Wisdom and performing one of their songs in their driveway.
“For the last three months, I’ve been planning a huge surprise for my mom,” Willow says on Red Table Talk. “She has no idea that I’ve been orchestrating this reunion…This is all happening, like, 40 feet away from the Red Table. If my mom gets up to go to the bathroom or anything, we are all sunk.”
Willow also shared what inspired her to come up with the idea of reuniting Wicked Wisdom – Jada was in the band with Pocket Honore and Taylor Graves back in the early 2000s.
“She was a rock star, and I was living for Wicked Wisdom. I felt like it was only right for me to pay homage to a time in her life because she showed me what womaning up really is about, so for Mother’s Day, I’m about to reunite with some of my mom’s old band members to do one of my favorite songs by my mom, which is called ‘Bleed All Over Me,'” Willow says. “I just love you so much, and I just want you to feel a tiny little bit of the gratitude and the love that you have given me throughout my entire life and continue to give me, and I just want to say Happy Mother’s Day, and you’re just always gonna be a superwoman and badass b–ch in my book, so I love you.”
Jada was totally touched by the epic surprise. Sharing a video of Willow’s performance, she captioned it, “My heart burst in a thousand different ways having my daughter honor me in this way. I love you Willow♥️🙏🏽♥️.”
In celebration of her first mother’s day, new mom Rooney Mara opened up about life with fiancé Joaquin Phoenix and their son River.
“As a new mom, Mother’s Day has taken on a special meaning this year. Raising our baby, River, has opened my heart to a whole new life filled with hope and more determination than ever to create a kinder and more sustainable world,” Rooney wrote In a letter penned as part of Farm Sanctuary’s Mother’s Day campaign.
“I feel so fortunate to be able to nurture my son in all of the ways that nature intended,” she continues, “and I wish all mothers in the animal kingdom could experience that sacred maternal bond with their young, devoid of exploitation by humans.”

Ellie Goulding and hubby Caspar Joplin, who recently welcomed their first child, also revealed a new detail about their little bundle of joy ahead of mother’s day – their baby announcement in The Times reveals they named their son Arthur Ever Winter Jopling.
Bindi Irwin honored her mom Terri with a sweet tribute on Twitter. “Thank you for showing me the infinite power of a mama’s love,” Bindi wrote, sharing a photo of her hugging Terri. “You are the real life Wonder Woman. I love you beyond description.”
Terri responded with a touching note of her own. Retweeting Bindi’s message, she wrote, “I will love you beyond forever. Daughter. Wife. Mother. I am so very proud of you.”
She also remembered her dad, the late Steve Irwin, as she celebrated her first mother’s day. “Celebrating my first Mother’s Day. This day embodies the extraordinary gift of family. Also celebrating her first mother’s day, Ashley Tisdale, is loving her new role as mom to a baby girl. “This little lady made me a momma!
