Kelly Clarkson has just added a new California luxury home to her real estate portfolio.
The 39-year-old Emmy-winning talk show host and American Idol’s first winner purchased a house in the Toluca Lake neighborhood of California. Her new home is a mansion that’s sad to be worth $5.4 million!
Kelly’s new home boasts of five bedroom and seven bathrooms. The Colonial style mansion has just under 5,000 square feet of living space for her and her kids. It was renovated back in 2018.
Luxury amenities of her California digs include a tennis court, swimming pool, guest house, courtyard patio, and a sprawling garden. The property is said to be located not far from where Kelly films both The Voice and The Kelly Clarkson Show.
She is said to have recently sold her 20,000 square foot, seven-bedroom Tennessee home for $6.3 million.
This luxury home is Kelly’s second Los Angeles property. Back in 2018, she purchased a newly-built 10,000 square foot, eight bedroom farmhouse mansion located in Encino, which is about 10 miles west of her new residence. She listed that property for sale in May 2020, a month before she filed for divorce from her then-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
Kelly and Brandon split up in 2020, and recently, she shared her thoughts about moving into her new home. She said:
“I got a new house, it’s very white and clean… And I also redid my office here (at the show). I looked at Kevin in our art department and I was like, ‘Please help me make this make sense.’
I just want to feel happy. The colors make me feel very good.”
In September 2020, Kelly spoke about her divorce, telling Sunday Today:
“It’s no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster… personally, it’s been a little hard the last couple months… I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce.
I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved.”
And in that same month, during the Season 2 premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show, she opened up a little more about what she’d been going through:
“What I’m dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart. It involves a lot of little hearts. We have four kids. Divorce is never easy. We’re both from divorced families so we know the best thing is to protect our children and their little hearts. So, I’m usually very open and I usually talk about everything. But in this case, I will talk a little bit here and there about how it affects me personally.
But I probably won’t go too far into it, because I’m a mama bear and my kids come first. Although, I do love you all. But I am okay. Everybody keeps asking and I am. The answer is yes.”
