Is Taylor Swift Behind Cover Of ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ On ‘Killing Eve’ Episode?

Taylor Swift’s fans embarked on an Easter egg hunt on Memorial Day (Monday, May 25).

Not exactly the holiday to do so, but when Taylor posted about being “stoked” about a cover of her Reputation era hit “Look What You Made Me Do,” which was featured in an episode of Killing Eve, fans began hunting down Easter eggs that may have been hidden in the track – artwork and credits included.

So, Taylor mentioned that “LWYMMD” was covered by Jack Leopards & The Dolphin Club. The thing is, there doesn’t seem to be anything about the band in cyberspace – and fans are seriously wondering whether the mysterious band actually exists at all.

However, some fans unearthed a maybe-connection of The Dolphin Club to the Swift family – apparently, it used to be the Twitter name of Taylor’s brother, Austin.

“So @austinswift7’s twitter name used to be The Dolphin Club,” the fan tweeted.

The cover’s artwork, which features a young boy wearing a shirt featuring The Dolphin Club, with his face covered by a square block and the name Jack Leopards written inside, also looks strikingly similar to a childhood picture of Austin wearing the same shirt.

Then, a look at the credits show that the song was produced by Jack Antonoff – who’s collaborated with Taylor a lot in recent years – and Nils Sjöberg. If the latter name is familiar, it’s because that’s Taylor’s pseudonym – the one she used when she wrote “This Is What You Came For” for Rihanna with Calvin Harris back in 2016.

As for the vocals, fans think it’s Austin singing. Fueling that theory even more is a report that came out back in February that Taylor had asked Killing Eve Executive Producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge for Austin to sing on the soundtrack during the Golden Globes in January.

But why would Taylor need to go through all the trouble of crediting a fake band for her song? Well, fans think it may have something to do with her ongoing feud with Scooter Braun over the rights to her old music.

“Taylor made up a whole band called ‘Jack Leopards and The Dolphin club’ consisting of herself, Austin Swift and Jack Antonoff to cover ‘LWYMMD,’ which is sung by Austin, partly produced by Taylor herself to not let Scooter gain a single cent from the it? TAYLOR SWIFT IS A GENIUS,” one follower tweeted.

“So you’re telling me that Taylor Swift produced a new ‘LWYMMD’ cover under non-existent bands called ‘Jack Leopards’ and ‘The Dolphin Club’ so Scooter wouldn’t get any coins from her art??” wrote another. “DO NOT MESS WITH THIS WOMAN. I REPEAT. DO NOT MESS WITH THIS WOMAN. HER MIND [IS FIRE].”

Okay, so it’s all speculations and theories at this point. And, so far, Taylor’s team hasn’t responded to request for comment.
