Congratulations are in order for Issa Rae and her longtime love Louis Diame.
The 36-year-old actress went on Instagram on Sunday (July 25) to share the happy news: they got married in the South of France!
Sharing photos from her glamorous destination wedding – including her gorgeous custom Vera Wang wedding gown, a photo with her bridesmaids, breathtaking views around their venue, and romantic photos with her now-husband – Issa jokingly captioned it, “A) Impromptu photo shoot in a custom @verawanggang dress. B) My girls came to help me, but they all coincidentally had on the same dress! They were sooooo embarrassed. C) Then I took a few flicks with Somebody’s Husband.”
“Big thanks to @whiteedenweddings for being so gracious and accommodating and making this feel so real and special,” she added.
Her news was met with well wishes and congratulatory messages from fans and her famous friends.
“ISSAAAA OMG!!! Congratulations!!!!!!! You are an absolute vision!!!! So so so overjoyed for you!!!!” Kelly McCreary wrote.
“You make a gorgeous Bride ❤️,” Tina Knowles-Lawson said.

Issa wore two custom Vera Wang gowns for the occasion – a light ivory strapless Haute ballgown with a sweetheart neckline, hand-placed Chantilly lace, hand-sewn crystal beading and a matching chapel-length veil adorned with the same Chantilly lace for the ceremony; and a plunging V-neck A-line gown whose layered tulle skirt featured a dramatic front slit for the reception. Meanwhile, the groom looked dashing in a red Dolce & Gabbana suit.
Issa and Louis have been together for years – since at least 2012 – and have walked the red carpet together at events numerous times over the years. They’ve largely kept details about their relationship out of the spotlight though.
Rumors that the Insecure actress was engaged first began swirling in 2019 when she appeared on the cover of Essence magazine’s April issue wearing a large diamond ring on that finger.
Jay Ellis and Yvonne Orji confirmed the engagement during a red-carpet interview at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards.
“We’re very excited for her,” Yvonne told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
“We all found out in different ways because we’re all on different text chains. We talk at different times, so we all found out at different times in different ways,” Jay added.
