The internet has been blowing up big time after a photo surfaced of Jacob and Zendaya locking lips in during their day out in New York City surfaced – and sources are saying that they’ve been dating on the downlow for months!
“Jacob and Zendaya have been seeing each other for months now,” a source tells E! News. “They started as close friends but it became romantic after their show ended.”
“They have been inseparable since last summer and have been making time for each other in between projects,” the insider continues. “Jacob has met Zendaya’s family and everyone adores him. They have a lot of fun together and have a lot in common.”
ICYMI, the two Euphoria co-stars began sparking romance rumors after they were spotted vacationing in Greece together, along with some friends last September. Fans began speculating what’s up with these two – especially since they appear to be all matchy-matchy with white tees and jeans (Jacob had an additional unbuttoned gray over shirt though).
Dating speculations heated up even more after Z allegedly spent Thanksgiving with Jacob and his family in Australia (where Jacob’s from).
Fans also been picked up a not-just-friends vibe from these two from how comfy they were with each other at the American Australian Association Arts Awards red carpet in January.
More recently, paparazzi got photos of the two of them goofing around and having fun during a day out in New York – and one showed Jacob being uber affectionate towards Zendaya, planting a kiss on her head!
They also attended a Fendi event in NYC on Wednesday (February 5) with 13 Reasons Why stars Katherine Langford and Tommy Dorfman. Afterwards, the pair was spotted attending a performance of Dear Evan Hansen on Wednesday night (February 5) at the Music Box Theatre.
“They were exchanging whispers and glances for sure. They seemed very relaxed around each other and had an ease about them. It looked very romantic,” a source told People, adding that the duo were “cuddling up in their seats.”
However, it sure seems the two are doing their hardest to downplay their relationship.
Back in November, Jacob told GQ Australia that he thinks Z is an “amazing creative” but says they’re not more than just castmates: “she’s like my sister.”
In January, Zendaya presented Jacob with the Rising Star Award at the American Australian Association Arts Awards in New York City where she called him her “best friend.”
Still, Z has previously said that dating someone in the industry could be super helpful – especially when it came to understanding their career’s demanding schedules.
“There’s just certain things in our lives that’s hard for people to understand if they don’t live it,” Zendaya shared in CR Fashion Book. “Like if I have to explain what a call time is or why I have to start glam early. I’m not just sitting around all day. I’m on camera, I’m shooting, I’m working, I can’t have my phone. But that doesn’t mean somebody who’s not in the industry can’t understand it or wouldn’t want to learn or understand it.”
