Jacob Elordi is Hollywood’s newest Elvis.

The 25-year-old actor has been cast as Elvis in Sofia Coppola’s upcoming film, Priscilla. The Elvis and Priscilla Presley-centric movie is based on Priscilla’s own memoir, “Elvis and Me.”

Sofia will be writing and directing the feature film.

Jacob will star alongside Cailee Spaeny, who is set to take on the titular role.

The movie will be filming this fall in Toronto. A24 will distribute the film in North America.

In “Elvis and Me,” Priscilla tackles meeting Elvis, their marriage, and the issues and other factors that inevitably led to the couple’s divorce.

Priscilla is the second big Presley-focused film in recent times, following Bad Luhrmann’s Elvis, starring Austin Butler and Olivia DeJonge as Elvis and Priscilla.

After the casting announcement was made, reports began circulating that Sofia “met with a number of actors for the Elvis role” — and she reportedly “took a shot” at a major music superstar for the part. Deadline’s Justin Kroll revealed in a tweet:

“”While Jacob beat out a number of actors who tested for the role of Elvis, sources say Sofia did take a shot at a certain musician to see if they had any interest in the role (they ultimately passed).”
