What do Jamie Dornan, Robert Pattinson, Eddie Redmayne, and Andrew Garfield have in common? Well, they’re all among Tinseltown’s leading actors of their generation.

But they also have another thing in common: The four of them are good friends who started out together and share a rich history with each other — and Jamie is dishing on his early days in Hollywood with his actor pals!

In a new interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, the 39-year-old Belfast star spoke about starting out in Hollywood alongside Rob, Eddie, and Andrew. He shared that the four of them were in LA together around 2007, 8, 9, trying to make their way in the industry, and would spend a lot of their time “reading scripts to each other”:

“It was only Eddie and I lived together, so Eddie and I lived together, but, um, it was around a time around 2008, 2009, uh, where we were 2000 7, 8, 9, probably. It was when we were just in LA a lot together at the same time. So we’d always be hanging out together, but only Eddie and I lived together.

But Garfield and Robert, you know, always around, Charlie Cox.”

He cutely admitted they were “pretty messy” back then as roommates:

“I mean, there’s loads of us who actually ended up going on to do pretty well for ourselves, but at the time we, we weren’t, we were pretty, yeah, pretty, pretty messy.

It’s now weird to think about it. Well, particularly for Eddie and I who lived together and Eddie‘s been one of my best mates for a long time. And now we’ve got, you know, five kids between us and we’re very, you know, much more sort of together people and stable people probably.”

And Jamie went on to speak about how great all of those guys were and still are:

“We had a lot of fun then, we were never, I think the key outta that group of guys and then and now is that we were never competitive with each other, you know, we were up for the same stuff a lot of the time, but that was, we were cool with that, you know, and, and it all sort of worked out in their own kind of individual way in the end.

And, they’re all really great guys and really good actors. And it’s, it’s cool that it kind of all happened for us in a way.”

That is one heck of a friend group right there!
