Jeremy Renner’s first TV interview has aired on ABC and new deals about his terrifying snowplowing incident were revealed.

The 52-year-old Oscar-nominated actor sat down with Diane Sawyer and opened up about his horrifying ordeal on New Year’s Day in Nevada.

He said that he and his 27-year-old nephew Alex were using the snow plow to be able to tow a Ford Raptor out from the snow. Upon successfully completing the task, Alex went to disconnect the chain between two vehicles.

Jeremy was in the plow as it started to slide on the ice. He worried about Alex’s safety and so he stuck one foot out of the plow to look back. However, he forgot to step on the parking brake.

Jeremy lost his balance and fell from the snow plow. He recounted:

“I just happened to be the dummy standing on the dang track a little bit, seeing if my nephew was there. You shouldn’t be outside the vehicle when you’re operating it, you know what I mean?

It’s like driving a car with one foot out of the car. But it is what it was. And it’s my mistake, and I paid for it.”

The Marvel star tried to jump back into the snow plow. That is when he was run over:

“That’s when I screamed, by the way, when I went under the thing. ‘Not today, motherfucker!’ is what I screamed. Sorry for the language.”

Diane listed his injuries, stating:

“Eight ribs broken in 14 places. Right knee, right ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken. Face, eye socket, jaw, mandible broken. Lung collapsed. Pierced from the rib bone, your liver — which sounds terrifying.”
