Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are facing a challenging custody battle, and it seems like things are getting even more complicated.

In case you missed the latest episode of this real-life drama, here’s the scoop: The 27-year-old Game Of Thrones star, and the 34-year-old Jonas Brothers’ singer have been navigating the rocky road of separation.

This rollercoaster ride took a sharp turn when Joe filed divorce papers in early September. Sophie didn’t hold back and hit back with a lawsuit of her own, demanding the return of their two children to England. She claimed that Joe was refusing to hand over their passports and insisted that they had agreed to make England their permanent home before parting ways.

Joe responded to Sophie’s lawsuit, firmly stating that he had not abducted their children in any way. This legal tug-of-war revolves around their daughters, Willa (3 years old) and Delphine (1 year old).

Recently, on Tuesday (October 3), lawyers representing Sophie and Joe appeared before Judge Katherine Polk Failla in a Manhattan courtroom to determine a trial date for their custody proceedings. Sophie’s legal team pushed for an expedited trial, citing her work commitments scheduled to start in January 2024. Meanwhile, Joe’s legal team requested a trial date in the new year, following the majority of the Jonas Brothers’ tour dates.

The judge ruled in favor of Joe’s team, setting a court hearing date for January 2, 2024. The big question remains whether the divorce and custody trial will take place in the US, as Joe prefers, or in England, as Sophie hopes.

But that’s not all—the judge added another layer to the proceedings. She ordered Sophie and Joe to attend a four-day mediation session. This mediation is expected to tackle various aspects of their divorce, such as parenting plans, custody arrangements, and other related issues. The hope is that through this mediation, they can reach agreements that will make the legal process smoother and less contentious.

As Sophie and Joe navigate these difficult waters, our thoughts are with them and their children. Custody battles are never easy, and it’s clear that both parties are determined to do what they believe is best for their family. Here’s hoping they find common ground and a peaceful resolution in the midst of this challenging chapter.
