Surprise, surprise! Julia Stiles has quietly expanded her family, making her a proud mom of three!
In a recent interview with The New York Times published on Wednesday (April 3), the 43-year-old actress, best known for her roles in “10 Things I Hate About You” and “Save the Last Dance,” revealed the exciting news that she and her husband, Preston J. Cook, welcomed their third child five months ago.
Despite keeping the pregnancy under wraps, Julia couldn’t contain her joy as she shared the delightful news about their new addition. However, she opted to keep some details private, including the baby’s gender and name, leaving fans eagerly speculating.
Reflecting on her recent journey into motherhood once again, Julia expressed how the experience has equipped her with valuable skills, particularly as she ventured into directing her first film, “Wish You Were Here.”
“I’m kind of like a bundle of emotions,” Julia confessed. “I have a 5-month-old baby, and I went into directing my first movie.”
While Julia didn’t elaborate much on her third pregnancy, she opened up about the invaluable lessons she’s learned from motherhood, which have undoubtedly influenced her approach to directing.
“I think that actually being a mom is really great training for being a director,” she explained. “You have to think 10 steps ahead but also be in the present moment. You have to be good at time management. You have to be sensitive to people’s needs and guide them, but also hold a boundary.”
Julia and Preston’s love story began on the set of her 2015 film, “Go With It,” where Preston served as a camera assistant. The couple tied the knot in September 2017 and have since built a beautiful family together, with their sons Strummer, 6, and Arlo, 2, rounding out their household.
