Justin Bieber treated fans to a sweet surprise on Easter Sunday – and, no, we’re not talking about the sugary kind.

The 27-year-old singer has been posting photos of himself working in the studio over the past few days – seemingly hinting at new music to fans. But what fans didn’t expect was for new music to come so soon.

Justin surprise-dropped a six-track gospel-themed EP titled Freedom on Sunday (April 4), 6:00 PM – just three weeks after he dropped his sixth studio album, Justice.

He announced the release on social media by simply posting the word “Freedom” in big bold black letters on white background and captioned it, “Freedom on all platforms.”

The EP, which features appearances by Brandon Love, Chandler Moore, Judah Smith, Lauren Walters, Pink Sweats, and Tori Kelly, includes tracks “Freedom” with Beam; “All She Wrote” (feat. Brandon Love and Chandler Moore); “We’re in This Together”; “Where You Go I Follow” (feat. Pink Sweats, Chandler Moore and Judah Smith); “Where Do I Fit In” (feat. Tori Kelly, Chandler Moore and Judah Smith); and “Afraid to Say” (feat. Lauren Walters).”

It was more than a year between 2020’s Changes and 2021’s Justice, but it seems Justin’s been hard at work on making new music – and it looks like he’s on a roll. Justice debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. His single also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

The “Peaches” singer made history by being the third artist to top the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 chart simultaneously – joining the ranks of BTS and Taylor Swift (she done it twice!). Justice also reportedly became the first album to hold 129 No. 1s on Apple Music’s charts across the globe.

Then, just one week later, he released Justice (Triple Chucks Deluxe), which added six new songs on the track list – including collaborations with Lil Uzi Vert, DaBaby, Quavo, Tori Kelly, and Jaden Smith.
