Kensington Palace has issued a statement on Tatler’s recent cover story on Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – a.k.a. Kate Middleton – which was titled “Catherine The Great.”

“This story contains a swathe of inaccuracies and false misrepresentations which were not put to Kensington Palace prior to publication,” a Palace spokesperson said in a statement, but did not explicitly specified what those inaccuracies and false misrepresentations are.

A Tatler spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight, “Tatler‘s Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources. Kensington Palace knew we were running the ‘Catherine the Great’ cover months ago and we asked them to work together on it. The fact they are denying they ever knew is categorically false.”

Among the claims in the published feature were that Kate wasn’t happy that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal exit ended up increasing her workload.

According to a “friend,” “Kate is furious about the larger workload. Of course she’s smiling and dressing appropriately but she doesn’t want this. She feels exhausted and trapped. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays,”

The piece goes on to claim that Kate has “a ruthless survival streak” and that “She keeps her head down because the prize of being queen is so great. She models herself on the Queen and now speaks like the Queen.”

Then, there was the alleged fight between Kate and Meghan at the rehearsal of Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding.

“Then there was an incident at the wedding rehearsal,” that source said. “It was a hot day and apparently there was a row over whether the bridesmaids should wear tights or not. Kate, following protocol, felt that they should. Meghan didn’t want them to.”

And another “friend” claims that Kate never “pulled Meghan under her wing.” According to that source, “Catherine and William were very circumspect from the beginning about Meghan, which hurt and incensed Harry.”

Another source says Prince Harry and Meghan pretty much ruined the lives of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis for throwing a larger workload on Kate with their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family.

“Meghan and Harry have been so selfish,” that source said. “William and Catherine really wanted to be hands-on parents and the Sussexes have effectively thrown their three children under a bus. There goes their morning school runs as the responsibilities on them now are enormous.”
