KJ Apa and Camila Mendes just gave fans a sneak peek into how filming on the set of Riverdale is going – and looks like they are taking extra precautions when it comes to certain scenes amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

KJ, who plays Archie Andrews on the show, recently shared a video of him and Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge, getting ready to film a make out scene.

Well, social distancing definitely won’t come into play here, obvi. But they are still taking extra precautions – like gargling with mouth wash for more than 30 seconds before every single take.

“our new normal is washing our mouths before every take of a make-out scene…” KJ captioned the clip of the two of them linking arms, as if to toast, and tossing back their respective paper cups of mouthwash.

They handed their empty paper cups to waiting crew members afterwards, and later spat out the mouthwash into plastic bags. Not exactly the most glamorous clip, but, hey, it’s hygienic.

Camila reposted the video on her Instagram Story, adding a champagne cheers emoji.

Their Riverdale co-star Lili Reinhart previously shared some of the safety measures that the cast and crew of Riverdale is undertaking to help ensure everyone’s safety amid the coronavirus pandemic – including quarantining before starting production, and staying in Canada for the duration of the filming schedule.
