It seems that sometimes, love is just not sweeter the second time around — at least for this former couple.
Kristin Cavallari has revealed that she and estranged husband Jay Cutler actually tried to date each other again following their separation. Sadly, it did not work out.
The 34-year-old Uncommon James founder spilled the deets during an appearance on the Off The Vine podcast. She opened up about their divorce. Kristin and Jay filed back in April 2020, and she said about the decision:
“[It was] probably the best decision I’ve ever made.”
She spoke about how she felt going through the dissolution of their marriage:
“I have to say, it’s been such a rollercoaster but it’s been the brightest and the saddest, the whole experience.”
Kristin then talked about dating Jay after the divorce:
“Jay and I actually went on a couple dates, like, months and months and months ago. We did.”
She went on to share that what they once had “wasn’t there anymore,” adding:
“I come from divorced parents and I was like, ‘I don’t want my kids growing up thinking that this is a good relationship. Because I got to see my mom remarry and be in a good relationship so that I knew what one was.
I mean, I wanted my kids to see me happy. I just did. And they’re better off. And they’ve adjusted really well, not that there’s ever a perfect age for it, but they were at good ages.
And so, I’m glad that it happened when it did.”
Kristin and Jay share three kids together — Camden Jack, 9, Jaxon Wyatt, 7, and Saylor James, 5.
Recently, Jay went out on a date with country singer Jana Kramer, to which a source revealed to People:
“So far it’s just been one date. Kristin and Jana are just acquaintances and have only met twice. They’re not friends.”
“Jay was trying to make Kristin jealous by going on this public date with Jana. He’s not happy she’s dating and has been trying to get Kristin back.”
The source also spilled that Kristin “has blocked [Jana] on social media.”
