Mother Monster has gone intergalactic.

Little Monsters (what she calls her fans) are rejoicing with Lady Gaga’s return. She dropped her new single, “Stupid Love” at midnight on Friday (February 28) – her first solo single in three years ! – along with its out of this world music video. So, of course, Gaga and her new track quickly became top trending topics on Twitter.

Fans, and even celebs, are thrilled and can’t stop gushing about it. Check out some of the reactions below:

Mark Ronson, her co-writer on the Oscar-winning song “Shallow,” tweeted, “Stupid Love is that pure pop abba Android s–t that I need right now. Nice job @bloodpop @ladygaga max martin and @iamTchami.”

“Lady Gaga is on her way to save pop music #StupidLove,” one fan account wrote.

“I know I’ve already said it but #StupidLove is such a ‘feel good’ song & the music video just makes it even better! It’s campy and fun to the max! All while spreading a much needed message of love!” another fan shared.

“Lady Gaga made a bada– Music Video only using an iPhone. Some of ya’ll faves can’t make a decent video even with high budget. ☕️,” one person tweeted tweeted. “The original supreme has risen. #StupidLove”

In a recent interview with Apple Music’s New Music Daily with Zane Lowe, Gaga opened up about how her own romantic experiences and lessons in love was an inspiration for “Stupid Love.”

“I know everyone in the world has different relationships with love, but guess what? I’m pretty sure that when we all decide to be vulnerable, it’s really scary, and I think it’s very scary for a lot of people,” Gaga shared. “There’s all kinds of laws and constructs and things that have built all around us and, you know, what I really want to do [is for] this song to come out and I’d love for it to collapse as many of those walls as possible and for people to be saying, ‘I want your stupid love. I love you.'”

She also teased what people can expect from her as-yet-untitled upcoming sixth album.

“I want people to dance and feel happy,” she said. “Someone asked me the other day what my goal was with this album and it actually sounds ridiculous when I say it out loud, but I said, ‘I would like to put out music that a big chunk of the world will hear, and it will become a part of their daily lives and make them happy every single day.”

Not much is known about LG6 though. Sleuth-y fans are theorizing that the album is called CHROMATICA after finding a “Stupid Love” promotional banner with the word. Reported collaborators also include songwriter Justin Tranter (Justin Bieber’s “Sorry”, Halsey’s “Bad At Love”, Selena Gomez’s “Lose You To Love Me”), producer BloodPop (he already has producer creds on “Stupid Love”, Mark Ronson, SOPHIE (she’s already produced a bunch of songs for Charli XCX).
