A major media and entertainment law firm was hacked and a lot of information on their data was stolen.

According to Variety, Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks suffered the data breach last week – the hackers got 756 gigabytes of documents on several music and entertainment figures. They’ve since informed their clients of the breach.

“We can confirm that we’ve been victimized by a cyberattack,” the firm said in a statement, per the outlet. “We have notified our clients and our staff. We have hired the world’s experts who specialize in this area, and we are working around the clock to address these matters.”

The hackers claim that the law firm’s roster of past and present clients include Lady Gaga, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Bruce Springsteen, Mary J. Blige, Ella Mai, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Bette Midler, Jessica Simpson, Priyanka Chopra, and Idina Menzel, and allegedly got their hands on contracts, nondisclosure agreements, phone numbers and email addresses, and private correspondence. According to cybersecurity firm Emsisoft, the hackers posted a part of Madonna’s contract with Live Nation on her 2019-20 “Madame X” tour on the dark web to prove that the hack was real.

It’s still not known what demands the hackers have made with regards to the stolen data, but it is believed to be a ransomware attack – where the hackers threaten to release the information they got unless they’re paid the amount they demand.

This isn’t the first time these hackers have struck. According to a Wall Street Journal, the group has also reportedly targeted other companies and organizations including Travelex, the U.K.-based currency-exchange company.
