We finally know when Elle Woods will be back!

On Tuesday (October 20), the OG cast of Legally Blonde – Reese Witherspoon, Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge, Matthew Davis, Ali Larter, Selma Blair, Holland Taylor, Jessica Cauffiel and Alanna Ubach – reunited after almost two decades for a good cause, raising money for the World Central Kitchen. Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman moderated the reunion and introduced everyone,

As they talked about the film, Reese shared how the iconic film has remained in the hearts and minds of fans – particularly the infamous ‘Bend and Snap’ move, and her Elle-isms.

“People always, always ask me to do the ‘Bend and Snap,'” Reese shared. “That was a full musical sequence that we ended up cutting out of the movie. It was just so fun, but it felt so odd because it was only one sequence.”

She also added that people still quote her iconic line: “What, like it’s hard.”

Legally Blonde, which debuted in 2001, was followed up with Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blue, in 2003. In 2018, Reese announced – in a total Elle Woods manner – that the much-loved franchise has gotten the green light for a third film. Fast-forward to 2020, Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor have signed on to pen the script for the sequel.

Following the reunion, MGM shared even more exciting news: Legally Blonde 3 is officially in the works and has a release date scheduled.

“Elle Woods is back! Legally Blonde 3 coming May 2022. We rest our case. #LegallyBlonde3 #ElleWoods,” MGM tweeted.

Time to bust out the pink!
