Letitia Wright was taken to the hospital after suffering minor injuries in a stunt gone wrong on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

A Marvel spokesperson confirmed the news, saying, “Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon.”

According to multiple reports, the accident involved a stunt rig. Although the film’s production is based in Atlanta, Georgia, the 27-year-old actress was in Boston at the time, filming a scene for the movie.

She’s since been released from the hospital and is recovering. It’s not yet clear if she’s back on set, but it appears there’s been no changes in the shooting schedule.

Get well soon, Letitia!

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated to drop on July 8, 2022 but details about the film is being kept under wraps. Marvel did previously confirm that they won’t be recasting the role of T’Challa, whom the late Chadwick Boseman portrayed prior to his passing in 2020.

According to Angela Bassett, who plays T’Challa’s mom, Queen Ramonda, “a lot of things had to be shifted and changed” in the script.

“Thankfully, Ryan [Coogler] and Joe Robert Cole, they’re just such masterful storytellers that they’ve found a way into this world and hopefully it will be satisfying, I think, for the fans and it will be honorable of our Chad,” she added. “We love our king.”

Angela, Lupita Nyong’o, and Winston Duke will be in the movie, and most of the cast is expected to reprise their roles, but so far only Letitia and Danai Gurira have been spotted on set, where they were photographed a few days ago.

As for who will take on the Black Panther mantle, apparently, whoever is deemed the protector of Wakanda can take on the role. Fans speculate that the story might take a page from the comics, with Shuri, T’Challa little sister played by Letitia, is a possible candidate.
