Over the weekend, Lily James and Dominic West were photographed having lunch together in Rome, Italy. The two are set to co-star in the upcoming BBC period piece, The Pursuit Of Love. Lunch between colleagues is NBD, right?
Well, fans were surprised when the two were snapped looking a little too cozy during their al fresco meal. In photos published by the Daily Mail, the two shared a scooter ride, where Dominic had his arms around Lily’s waist as he grasped the handle of their vehicle. Another photo appears to show Dominic kissing Lily’s neck!
Last week, reports came out that Lily has split from boyfriend Matt Smith “for good” after being together on and off for five years. However, Dominic is married – he and wife Catherine FitzGerald wed in 2010. They share four kids – Dora, 13, Senan, 12, Francis, 11, and Christabel, 7 – and no split announcement has been made.
Now, some fans thought that the photos may be from a scene in the film, but others pointed out the The Pursuit Of Love is a period piece, and Lily and Gerald were very much wearing modern casual clothing.
Then, an eyewitness told E! News that their PDA went beyond the lunch date. “At the end of lunch Lily sat next to Dominic and he couldn’t resist kissing her neck and stroking her. They then visited the nearby church and Dominic placed his hand on Lily‘s butt.”
Catherine was allegedly “shocked,” and “devastated” after seeing the pictures. Dominic returned home Monday (October 12) night, and, on Tuesday (October 13), he and Catherine put on a united front and released a joint statement to the media.
The couple shared a kiss and posed for photographers outside their home in Wiltshire, England.
“Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together. Thank you,” Dominic wrote in a handwritten note, which was handed out to the media. It was signed by both of them individually.
