Lucy Boynton and Rami Malek have been dating for years and have always been very private about their relationship.
In a new interview with You magazine however, the 28-year-old actress made some rare comments about her main man.
Lucy and Rami met while filming the 2018 film Bohemian Rhapsody and have been together ever since. In the interview, she candidly spoke about being Rami’s date to the 2019 Oscars, where he won the coveted Best Actor award for his performance in the film.
In Rami’s acceptance speech at the time, he said:
“Lucy Boynton, you are the heart of this film, you are beyond immensely talented, you have captured my heart.”
And now, Lucy is reflecting on that emotional moment, sweetly saying:
“It sounds so silly but I was really unaware of the public element of that. You’re just absorbing, millisecond by millisecond, what is happening, and then suddenly you hear the applause and you realize it’s been a public moment, which is slightly strange.”
Back in 2019, she also addressed that memorable moment, telling The Cut that she “blacked out” during her boyfriend’s win:
“Him winning for his performance was like winning for the top of the iceberg of everything he had done. You kind of forget that there are hundreds of other people in the room.”
