Meghan Markle sent some love and support to the to those fighting to help bereaved relatives three years on from the Grenfell Tower blaze.

On June 14, 2017, a fire broke out at Grenfell Tower, killing 72 people and devastating the local community. It’s been three years since, and many are still healing from the tragic events that happened that day. But at the same time, the community also got together to help each other out during those hard times.

The Hubb Community Kitchen, which was started by survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire, was created to help provide food to those in need. The Duchess of Sussex later collaborated with them in the cookbook she published in 2018, Together: Our Community Cookbook.

According to the Evening Standard, Meghan spent some time on Sunday (June 14), which marked the tragedy’s third anniversary, to video call the volunteers and check in with them and offer her support.

“I think back to when I met all of you and how you had all come together in the wake of what you experienced in your community,” Meghan reportedly said in the video call. “And now what you have done is such an inspiration, you continue to give back, you continue to put love in action. And that’s really what Hubb is all about.”

“I’m so proud of you, so is Harry, and we are sending so much love to you from across the pond and thinking of you today, as I’m sure it’s a difficult day, but also one where you can look at how much you’ve accomplished in the past three years, and how you continue to give back and be an example for all of those around you,” she added.

Adele also shared a message of support for the survivors of the Grenfell Tower Fire and reflected on the importance of the community coming together, especially in these uncertain times.

“I want to send my love to all of you today, and let you know that I’m thinking of you, as I always do,” Adele said via People. “Even though we’re having to do this in the virtual world, online, on 2020 Zoom life as it is, it’s still so important for us to mourn together and for us to remember that night and to reflect on that and also reflect on where we are now with that.”

“There has never been a more appropriate time for us to truly exercise camaraderie, and compassion, and open-mindedness, and persistence. Persistence for answers. Persistence for action,” Adele said. “It’s a scientific fact that human beings are pack animals, we’re not supposed to be left on our own. We need each other to survive, and that is something that I truly see in action with the Grenfell community.”

“I’m so sad that we’re not all together today because although it’s always a very somber event when everyone gets together, it’s also beautiful and the kids are running around — I can’t wait to hear all about them,” Adele continued. “And I know that before the anniversary next year that we can all do that and I can’t wait. I can’t wait to be there and I can’t wait to see all of you.”

“I miss you all, I can’t wait to see you all and like I said, I’m thinking of you today more than ever. Stay safe, say healthy,” Adele concluded.
