Lady Gaga and Adam Driver have been busy filming in their upcoming film, House Of Gucci, in Italy. The movie about the sensational story of Maurizio Gucci’s marriage and tragic death is being helmed by director Ridley Scott. And while it’s not out until November, Gaga’s already got fans excited when she shared the first look of Adam and herself in their roles as Maurizio and his wife, Patrizia Reggiani, on Instagram.

However, apparently, there are some who aren’t exactly thrilled about the film – particularly members of the actual Gucci fam.

Maurizio’s second cousin, Patrizia Gucci (not to be confused with his wife Patrizia Reggiani), said she speaks on behalf of her entire family when she told the Associated Press, “We are truly disappointed.”

“They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system…Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything, but there is a borderline that cannot be crossed,” she continued.

According to the Gucci heir, Ridley’s wife Gianina Facio reached out to their family sometime in the early 2000s to talk about an entirely different project which she said was focused on her dad Paolo, and grandfather, Aldo – but they didn’t reach out about doing House Of Gucci.

She says she’s tried to contact Gianina for more information on what the movie will entail and claims she has yet to receive a response.

House of Gucci also stars Jared Leto as Patrizia’s dad, Paolo Gucci, and Al Pacino as her grandfather, Aldo Gucci. But, apparently, Patrizia isn’t impressed by the casting.

“My grandfather was a very handsome man, like all the Guccis, and very tall, blue eyes and very elegant,” Patrizia G. told the outlet. “He is being played by Al Pacino, who is not very tall already, and this photo shows him as fat, short, with sideburns, really ugly.”

“Shameful, because he doesn’t resemble him at all,” she added.

As for Jared portraying her dad, “Horrible, horrible,” she said. “I still feel offended.”

Apparently, even Patrizia Reggiani isn’t so thrilled about Lady Gaga playing her onscreen, telling Italian outlet ANSA, “I am rather annoyed at the fact that Lady Gaga is playing me in the new Ridley Scott film without having had the consideration and sensibility to come and meet me.”

Patrizia R. says it’s not even about the money. “It is not an economic question,” she said. “I won’t get a cent from the film. It is a question of good sense and respect.”

Ridley’s reps are yet to respond to requests for comment.
