Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato want everyone to stay lit during these dark times.

People continue to quarantine themselves in order to prevent further spread of COVID-19, a.k.a. Coronavirus. Amidst the lockdown, several celebrities have taken to social media to provide entertainment for fans around the world – among them, Chris Martin, John Legend, Keith Urban, P!nk, Rob Thomas, David Foster and wife Katharine McPhee.

One of the latest stars to join in is Miley Cyrus, who came up with her own series, “BRIGHT MINDED: Live With Miley,” which will air on her Instagram every day this week at 11:30 a.m. PT/2:30 p.m. ET.

The series includes a live chat, where Demi Lovato came on as her first guest. Together, they discussed how they’ve personally been affected by the epidemic as well as shared what they’ve been doing to stay mentally healthy during isolation.

Demi actually had to move out of her apartment after someone in her building tested positive for COVID19.

“I moved in with my family,” she revealed. “I’m with my family right now and they’re everything. Fortunately my family just moved into this new place. I’m going to use my sister’s [space] as a cardio room and do workouts from my phone.”

Miley, on the other hand, is self-distancing herself from her grandmother for fear of putting her at risk of contracting the virus.

As for what they’ve been doing to cope with staying cooped up at home, Demi shared that she’s been keeping busy – meditating, practicing breathing techniques and doing virtual sessions with her therapist. Prayer also helps, and she even uses a guided prayer app daily.

She gave fans a tour of her “immunity table,” which is stocked with rubbing alcohol (she uses it to make her own hand sanitizer), Emergen-C, Manuka honey, apple cider vinegar gummies, vitamin C, CBD and probiotics.

“Everyone’s immune system needs to be tip top,” she advised. “I want cupcakes … but I’m getting my sugar through fruit, gummies and Emergen-C to boost my immune system.”

She’s also busting out some old hobbies to try and stay sane. “I’m trying to be more creative right now,” she shared. “I want to knit. I used to knit all the time.”

Miley is doing something creative as well – mastering the guitar!

“I want to get better at guitar so when I’m on tour I’ll be shredding,” she explained.

She also asked Demi to share a message to her fans as we continue to quarantine.

“I think it’s so important for anybody that has dealt with body image or anything like that, that right now when we’re home with our mirrors, it’s so important not to get consumed in negative self talk. This goes for anybody, whether you’ve dealt with body image or not. We’re confined into these spaces. We’re going to see the same mirrors every day. We’re going to have these same negative thoughts,” Demi, who’s been very open about her own body image issues, said.

“It’s important not to beat ourselves up over getting nervous, over maybe not eating perfectly, not working out perfectly,” she continued. “These are different, very scary times. We’ve never been through anything like this in our lives. This is all new to everyone. Be gentle and take care of yourselves as much as possible.”

While we’re staying home and doing our best to boost our immune systems, unfortunately, there are those who have already contracted the virus.

Bebe Rexha is urging everyone to take the Coronavirus situation seriously and stay inside – after an acquaintance passed away due to the virus.

“This is NOT A JOKE. A friend of a friend just died of corona at the age of 45. STAY INSIDE YOUR F–KIN HOUSE AND DO YOUR CIVIC DUTY. PLEASE,” she tweeted, seemingly addressing a misconception that only the elderly and the very young are the most gravely affected from contracting the virus.

On a more hopeful note, celebrities who have previously opened up about their Coronavirus diagnoses are giving updates on how they’re faring.

Tom Hanks continues to post lighthearted updates about his and wife Rita Wilson’s road to recovery.

“Hey folks. Good News: One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch,” Tom captioned a snapshot of one of his many vintage typewriters, which he has with him as they recover at a rented house in Australia.

“Bad news: My wife @ritawilson has won 6 straight hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points,” he added.

“I have learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick,” Tom continued, referring to the debate his previous post sparked which featured slices of toast generously topped with the traditional Australian food spread. “[And] I travelled here with a typewriter, one I used to love.”

The actor then shared a message of unity, writing, “We are all in this together. Flatten the curve. Hanx.”

Idris Elba also went live on Periscope to give an update on his condition.

“It’s been a mad 24 hours, as you can probably guess,” Idris said in the video. “Yesterday was good and bad, you know what I mean?”

Bad because he tested positive, obvi, and good because his announcement “opened up a lot of conversation” surrounding coronavirus.

“I think it made it a lot more real for some people,” he explained. “Definitely made it a lot more real for me and my family… And the end of the day, my wife and I felt like it was the right thing to do, to share what we’re going through, because we ain’t the only ones.”

He says he hasn’t shown any symptoms so far.

“Woke up this morning, didn’t have any symptoms,” he recounted. “My voice is a little bit tired, I just didn’t sleep that well, but still don’t have any symptoms. I’m checking my fever twice a day, and feel good, feel OK.”
