Oscar nominee Amanda Seyfried and Tony nominee Thomas Sadoski are officially ending their marriage after nine years together. The acclaimed acting duo confirmed the news of their amicable split in a brief joint statement, noting that they have been living separate lives for an extended period.

The former couple first crossed paths in 2015 while starring alongside each other in the Off-Broadway production of The Way We Get By. Later that same year, they reteamed on screen for the independent feature The Last Word, where their on-set chemistry developed into a real-life romance by early 2016. The pair quietly eloped in an intimate, secret ceremony in March 2017, just days before welcoming their first child.

In a joint statement provided to People, Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50, emphasized their continued commitment to co-parenting their daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas Jr., 6:

“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD.”

Real estate moves had already hinted at structural changes in their living arrangements. Last month, Architectural Digestreported that Seyfried placed her long-held Hollywood Hills home on the market for $3.2 million—a property she originally acquired in 2011 for $1.85 million. Reports indicate Seyfried will maintain her primary residence on an expansive farm in Upstate New York, where she has long raised livestock away from Hollywood’s center.
