For Anna Camp, embracing a new chapter in her 40s has meant something powerful: living more openly and honestly than ever before.
The Pitch Perfect star recently shared that she identifies as bisexual during a candid appearance on the I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario podcast. At 43, Camp spoke openly about the personal growth that led her to this moment and why claiming her identity publicly feels both meaningful and empowering.
“As a 43-year-old woman, I am very proud of myself for owning my sexuality at this age. I am a very strong person for doing it in somewhat of a spotlight with people criticizing and judging and making assumptions. I’m really proud to be bisexual,” Anna confirmed on the “I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario” podcast.
Camp explained that her 40s have been a time of reflection and transformation — something she described as a major shift in how she sees herself and her life.
Anna noted that she’s navigating “a major evolution in my 40s and not being afraid of it.”
For many people, coming out later in life can feel complicated, particularly when it happens under the public microscope of Hollywood. But Camp made it clear that personal happiness has become her priority.
“Sure, there are times I feel like I am taking a risk and this is scary and I’m doing it in a public forum. But to say, ‘No, I only get one life and I want to be happy,’ that’s what life is all about,” she added (via People).
In recent months, Camp has also shared glimpses of her relationship with girlfriend Jade Whipkey. The couple went public in May and later made their red carpet debut together at the premiere of Camp’s film Bride Hard in June. Their appearance marked a visible step forward in the actress’ journey toward living more openly.
Before this chapter of her life, Camp was married to fellow Pitch Perfect actor Skylar Astin. The two tied the knot in 2016 before separating in 2019. Prior to that relationship, she was married to actor Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013.
