Grammy-winning pop titan Ariana Grande is taking a firm, public stand against the Trump political camp once again.The conflict reignited on Thursday, August 20, when the official Team Trump account posted a TikTok video featuring the 33-year-old vocal powerhouse’s hit track “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” as its soundtrack.
The viral video depicted Donald Trump walking up to a rally podium, overlaid with text adapting lyrics from Grande’s song: “Me and my truth we sit in silence…” beneath which the post added, “Men can’t have babies and should never compete in women’s sports”. Captioned “This shouldn’t be controversial! #trump #arianagrande #maga,” the upload triggered an immediate reaction from the artist herself.
Grande directly entered the post’s comment section to issue a sharp reprimand, writing:
“Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false.”
Shortly following the public interaction, the video’s audio track was muted, and the clip was pulled from the platform.
This confrontation marks the second instance this summer where Grande has forcefully denounced unauthorized usage of her catalogue for political messaging. In June, after the White House published a promotional video displaying ICE agents detaining individuals scored to her upbeat single “Bye,” Grande intervened with an equally direct statement:
“Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.”
