Belmont Cameli’s breakout moment has brought him an influx of new fans—but according to his girlfriend, some supporters have crossed a line.

The actor, who stars as Garrett Graham in Prime Video’s hit college hockey romance series Off Campus, has seen his profile rise significantly as the show’s popularity continues to grow. Along with that increased visibility has come a wave of online attention, much of it positive.

This week, however, television writer Raina Morris, who has been dating Cameli, took to social media to address a small group of fans whose behavior she says has become increasingly intrusive.

Rather than issuing a lengthy statement, Morris delivered her message with humor while making it unmistakably clear that certain boundaries should be respected.

Posting to her Instagram Story, she wrote:

“If you are a fan of my boyfriend: Yay! Please stop messaging my family members. They are so confused. Write it in your diary and then go on a walk instead! Love u.”

The message quickly began circulating across social media, with many fans praising Morris for addressing the issue directly while keeping the tone lighthearted.

She followed the post with another joke, this time using a popular meme from the sitcom Community.

The original image features Gillian Jacobs’ character saying, “I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at animal cruelty.”

Morris customized the caption to fit her situation, changing it to:

“I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at DMing my distant cousins.”

The playful meme underscored a point that many public figures have increasingly had to make as fandoms continue to grow online: admiration doesn’t extend to contacting relatives who have chosen to stay out of the spotlight.

Although Cameli himself has not publicly commented on Morris’ posts, the couple has never hidden their relationship.

It’s unclear exactly when they began dating, but the pair were photographed together at an event in March 2025, and Morris has occasionally shared glimpses of their relationship through social media. While neither frequently discusses their private life publicly, they have appeared comfortable acknowledging one another without turning their romance into a public spectacle.

Cameli’s recent rise in popularity helps explain the sudden increase in attention.

With Off Campus quickly becoming one of Prime Video’s most talked-about romance series, many of the show’s stars have seen dramatic growth across social media. Adapted from Elle Kennedy’s bestselling novels, the series has introduced Cameli to a significantly larger audience, particularly among younger viewers who have enthusiastically embraced the show’s blend of romance, comedy and collegiate sports.

As often happens with breakout television hits, that enthusiasm has spilled onto platforms like Instagram, TikTok and X, where fans eagerly discuss storylines, share edits and follow cast members’ personal accounts.

Most of that engagement remains positive, but Morris’ comments serve as a reminder that excitement can occasionally blur into invasions of privacy.
