Chris Evans and Alba Baptista have officially entered their newest — and perhaps sweetest — chapter yet: parenthood.

The Captain America actor, 44, and the Warrior Nun star, 28, recently welcomed their first child together, multiple outlets confirm.

While initial reports suggested the baby arrived on Saturday, October 25, People has since clarified that the couple actually welcomed a baby girl named Alma Grace Baptista Evans on Friday, October 24 in Massachusetts. According to TMZ, baby Alma was born at 1:27 p.m.

“They’re enjoying their privacy and these special first few days as a family with their baby,” a source told People.

The name “Alma,” meaning “soul” in both Portuguese and Spanish, is a heartfelt nod to Baptista’s roots. The actress, who was born and raised in Lisbon, speaks five languages — Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, and English — a detail Evans has often praised as part of what drew him to her.

Evans, who has long been vocal about wanting a family, once told People, “That’s absolutely something I want: wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists — actors, painters, writers — most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships; the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”

He added, “Those things are the most important. I love the idea of tradition and ceremony. I had a lot of that in my life, so the idea of creating that—I can’t think of anything better.”

Evans and Baptista, who first sparked romance rumors in 2022, tied the knot in a private ceremony at their Boston-area home in the summer of 2023. They made their red carpet debut as a couple at an Oscars after-party in March 2024.

Now, with baby Alma’s arrival, the couple is soaking up their first days as new parents — and by the sound of it, loving every minute.
