Chris Pratt is setting the record straight — once and for all — about how he really crossed paths with his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger.
During an appearance on Fox & Friends, the 46-year-old actor addressed a long-running myth that many fans have repeated over the years: that his now-mother-in-law, Maria Shriver, introduced the couple. Chris didn’t hesitate to correct the story.
“That’s actually not true,” he said to host Steve Doocy on Tuesday (December 2). “Let’s settle it now.”
According to Chris, the real origin of their relationship is far less orchestrated and far more serendipitous. “I met my wife in church,” he said plainly. “I was at a church in Hollywood, and I looked over, and I saw her. And I know you’re not supposed to be, like, checking out girls at church, but I’m only human. And I thought, ‘Wow, she’s really cute.’”
Chris shared that he wasn’t alone at the time — he was with his son, Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris. “I was there with my son Jack, and I picked him up from the kids program, and Jack and I met Katherine basically at the same time,” he added. “And, yes, the rest is history.”
That moment eventually led to one of Hollywood’s sweetest love stories. Chris and Katherine were first linked in June 2018, and it didn’t take long for the connection to deepen. By January 2019, the couple revealed they were engaged, and just a few months later, they tied the knot in June 2019.
Since then, the pair has grown their family, welcoming three children together: daughters Lyla, 5, and Eloise, 3, and their newest addition, son Ford, who is now 13 months old. Chris frequently gushes about fatherhood and family life, and he and Katherine often speak about how faith remains a grounding force in their relationship.
The revelation about how they met comes after years of speculation, fueled by the Schwarzenegger family’s close ties and high-profile connections. But Chris’ clarification not only clears up the rumor — it also paints a much sweeter picture of their beginnings.
