Gracie Abrams has fans talking—not because of what she said, but because of one unexpected photo she included in her latest Instagram post.

The singer-songwriter recently shared a carousel of personal snapshots with her followers, including a glamorous look at the sparkling red gown she wore to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding celebration. While the post itself appeared casual and largely uncaptioned, one particular image quickly caught the attention of Swifties and set off a wave of online discussion.

Among childhood photos, artistic images and album-related visuals was a still from the 2018 period film The Favourite, featuring Joe Alwyn and Emma Stone.

The screenshot shows Stone’s character overpowering Alwyn’s character during one memorable scene in the Oscar-winning film.

Abrams offered no explanation for including the image.

She also made no mention of Swift and Kelce’s wedding anywhere in the post, despite the fact that the striking red sequined gown featured in the carousel matched the dress she was photographed wearing while leaving the newlyweds’ star-studded celebration at Madison Square Garden.

That combination quickly fueled speculation among fans.

Many immediately noticed the inclusion of Alwyn, who famously dated Swift for more than six years before the couple quietly ended their relationship in 2023.

Although the breakup was widely covered at the time, sources indicated there was no major conflict behind the split.

“[The relationship] just ran its course,” a source told Page Six following news of their separation.

Since then, both Swift and Alwyn have largely moved forward privately.

Alwyn has recently been linked to actress Sarah Pidgeon, with multiple outlets reporting the pair are “casually dating.”

“Both Sarah and Joe are very intellectual, private and laid-back people, so it feels like a really compatible match,” a source told Us Weekly.

Against that backdrop, Abrams’ decision to include a still featuring Alwyn inevitably drew extra attention.

Social media users quickly began offering their own interpretations, despite there being no indication that the image carried any hidden meaning.

Several fans questioned the choice in the comments section.

One person described the inclusion as “crazyyyyy.”

Another simply called it “weird.”

A third wrote, “Not congratulating Taylor — but posting her ex?”

Others argued the image was likely nothing more than one of many random photos included throughout the carousel.

Indeed, the rest of the post featured an eclectic mix of content, including throwback childhood pictures, artistic photography and images connected to Abrams’ music.

Without any accompanying explanation from the singer, there’s currently no evidence suggesting the film still was intended as commentary about Swift, Alwyn or anyone else.

Abrams and Swift have developed a close friendship over the past several years.

Abrams joined Swift as an opening act during multiple legs of The Eras Tour in both 2023 and 2024, introducing her music to stadium audiences around the world.

The two artists also collaborated on the song “Us,” which appeared on Abrams’ acclaimed sophomore album, The Secret of Us.

Abrams was among roughly 1,000 guests invited to Swift and Kelce’s lavish July 3 celebration in New York City, joining a guest list that included musicians, actors, athletes and longtime friends of the couple.

Although Abrams never directly referenced the event in her Instagram upload, paparazzi photographs confirmed she attended wearing the same shimmering red gown featured in her carousel.
