Hailee Steinfeld is stepping into a beautiful new chapter.
The Oscar-nominated actress and singer has announced that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with her husband, NFL quarterback Josh Allen. Hailee, 29, shared the joyful news by posting a serene video of the couple walking together in the snow, gently revealing her growing baby bump.
The announcement came just one day after Hailee’s 29th birthday, a milestone she reflected on in a deeply personal entry in her Beau Society newsletter. The couple, who began dating in May 2023, were married on May 31, 2025.
In her birthday message, Hailee opened up about the past year with warmth, humor, and gratitude.
“Yesterday was my 29th birthday, and like most birthdays, it made me all sentimental and mushy inside. Some of my best friends flew out to Buffalo for the first time. We stayed up chatting until 3 in the morning, played games, went four-wheeling through the snow (got stuck, had to call my brother to tow us out of the mud – thank God for him), and lost our voices, screaming at the top of our lungs as you know who did you know what,” Hailee began her note.
She continued with a reflection that now reads as especially poignant:
“How lucky are we that we get to grow older? 28 was wild, beautiful, humbling, and full of the kind of moments that sneak up and change you quietly. This year, I’ve been reminded of how precious life is. I’ve surprised myself in a thousand different ways.”
Hailee went on to describe finding joy in the everyday moments of her life with Josh.
“Sometimes (many times), laughter saved the day. Other times, I found peace in simplicity: cooking breakfast with Josh, sinking into the perfect nighttime and morning routines, and talking to friends who see me clearly.”
She also reflected on her evolving relationship with work and creativity.
“This year, my work challenged me and rewarded me. Stepping into new projects felt like stepping into new versions of myself. I found creativity in unexpected places, like childhood memories and late-night conversations. I found clarity in asking myself what I really want.”
As she looks ahead, Hailee embraced growth and change.
“And now, as I step into my 29th year as a softer, stronger version of myself, I want to appreciate some of my favorite moments from this year, both big and small.”
She concluded the list of 29 moments by pointing fans toward “this video”—the pregnancy announcement itself.
Josh Allen also addressed the exciting news publicly following the Buffalo Bills’ win against the New England Patriots on Sunday, December 14.
“I love my wife, she’s my favorite teammate,” Josh said when asked whether becoming a future dad had motivated his performance, via People.
He added candidly,
“I’ve known for a long time, so it’s not that crazy to me.”
And finally, he shared just how meaningful the moment is for them both.
“You know it’s a really cool, special moment in my life and my wife’s.”
