Destiny’s Child may be preparing to return to playlists in a brand-new way.
While fans shouldn’t expect an entirely new studio album from Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, they may soon get the next best thing. Mathew Knowles, the group’s former manager and Beyoncé’s father, has revealed that a collection of previously unheard Destiny’s Child remixes is on the way—and some of them have apparently never been heard by the public before.
Knowles shared the surprise during a recent appearance on Page Six Radio, where he hinted that longtime fans won’t have to wait very long.
“What we’re doing now is we’re about to market a bunch of new remixes. Some you’ve never heard before from Destiny’s Child,” he said before adding:
“In the next 30 days.”
He went on to reveal that the upcoming release has been quietly sitting in the vault for years.
“You’re the first to know. We have a number of remixes that have never been released and we’ll be putting those out soon,” he shared.
Rather than relying on outside DJs or contemporary producers, Knowles explained that the recordings stay true to the group’s original chemistry.
“They’re with the girls. Now, we have some guest rappers on it, but the girls are on it. And then there’s, you know, there’s some that are dance mixes and then there’s some that are just regular urban mixes. So, there’s a combination. And we have so much music that hadn’t been put out yet on Destiny’s Child.”
That final detail is perhaps the most exciting for devoted fans. The possibility that unreleased Destiny’s Child material still exists has long fueled speculation among the group’s supporters, and Knowles’ comments suggest there may be much more archived music than listeners previously realized.
He even teased one especially exciting collaboration before stopping himself from revealing too much.
“She’s on one of them. I’ll stop,”
The “she” in question is none other than Missy Elliott, whose creative collaborations have helped define some of the biggest moments in modern R&B and hip-hop.
The announcement follows a particularly celebratory period for Destiny’s Child.
Earlier this year, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams marked the 25th anniversary of Survivor, the landmark album that produced enduring hits including “Survivor,” “Bootylicious,” “Emotion” and “Nasty Girl.”
Each member reflected on the milestone with heartfelt social media tributes celebrating not only the music but also the sisterhood that has lasted decades.
Beyoncé wrote:
“Today celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Destiny’s Child’s third album, Survivor 💛. To my soul sisters I thank God for you both. It’s an honor to sing through life with you ladies by my side. Behind the curtains Beyond the lights Forever my Angels. Ma kee ta ta 💛💛 Happy 25th Anniversary!”
Kelly Rowland added her own message filled with affection and humor.
“Where did the time go… 25 years is crazy. I love you BB. I love you Mimi. What a beautiful journey we have been blessed to have. DC for life. I love you 💛 P.S y’all owe me a wig or that damn helicopter owes me a wig”
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, couldn’t resist recalling one of the era’s most memorable behind-the-scenes moments.
“I never laughed so hard when your wig came off. And we all went chasing behind it.🤣 that was such a special time. I’m smiling from here to ear thinking that cold morning on the Malibu Beach. My babies, all three of y’all killing the game. And knowing that we are all survivors.!”
Michelle Williams also reflected on how meaningful the Survivor era remains to her.
“Listen! I am stunned that it’s the 25 year anniversary of the album Survivor! Destiny’s Child made such an impact on this earth and I’m truly humbled to a part of history! I was soooooooooo green in this era! LOLOLOL! Beyoncé and Kelly, we really did this!!!! I can’t thank you ladies enough for showing me love, loyalty and true sisterhood! We had so much fun, long days, nights, harmonizing about anything we could think of, traveling the world, meeting amazing supporters who still rock with us today!!! The trio most recently thrilled fans by reuniting onstage during the final stop of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour in Las Vegas, where they performed fan favorites including “Bootylicious.” Before that, Beyoncé and Kelly reunited with Michelle at the opening night of her Broadway musical Death Becomes Her in late 2024.
Whether this upcoming project ultimately leads to something even bigger remains to be seen. For now, though, the promise of unheard Destiny’s Child remixes is more than enough to get longtime fans counting down the days.
