Olivia Rodrigo’s love life is once again making headlines—but this time, the rumored new man in her life isn’t an actor, musician or fellow celebrity.
The Grammy-winning singer has sparked fresh dating speculation after being spotted multiple times around Brooklyn with Julian Croonenberghs, a finance professional whose résumé looks very different from the Hollywood circles Rodrigo has typically been linked to.
The latest wave of rumors gained momentum after photos surfaced online on Monday appearing to show the pair arriving at an airport while traveling from Iceland to New York. Fans quickly began identifying the man accompanying Rodrigo as Croonenberghs, and it didn’t take long for social media detectives to piece together more about his background.
Unlike Rodrigo’s previous rumored romances, Croonenberghs has built his career outside the entertainment industry.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he graduated from Brown University, where he studied applied mathematics and computer science before beginning a career in finance. He previously worked as a banking analyst at Goldman Sachs and now works with private equity firm Hg Capital.
His accomplishments extend well beyond Wall Street, too. Between 2018 and 2020, Croonenberghs represented the United States on the Men’s National Field Hockey Team, and he’s also multilingual, speaking both Dutch and French.
While neither Rodrigo nor Croonenberghs has publicly commented on the speculation, the repeated sightings have naturally fueled questions about whether the pair are simply friends—or quietly beginning a new relationship.
Representatives for Rodrigo also declined to comment.
If the rumors do prove to be true, it would mark a noticeable shift in Rodrigo’s dating history.
Since becoming one of pop music’s biggest breakout stars, the “drivers license” singer has largely been linked to fellow creatives and public figures.
One of her earliest high-profile romances was with producer Adam Faze. The pair began dating in 2021 before reportedly ending their relationship in early 2022.
Before that, fans famously speculated about her relationship with High School Musical: The Musical: The Series co-star Joshua Bassett. Although neither has ever fully confirmed the timeline of their romance, their reported breakup became the subject of endless fan discussion, particularly after Rodrigo released “drivers license,” a song many listeners interpreted as drawing inspiration from their relationship.
In 2022, Rodrigo was also briefly linked to music executive and DJ Zack Bia after the two were spotted spending time together. That relationship was relatively short-lived, and both soon moved on.
Most recently, Rodrigo dated British actor Louis Partridge throughout much of 2024.
The couple kept their relationship relatively low-key, occasionally appearing together at events while largely staying away from the spotlight. Earlier this year, however, breakup speculation intensified after fans noticed they had stopped appearing together publicly.
Reports later suggested the relationship had ended.
