Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has officially joined Instagram—and she’s bringing her trademark unfiltered humor to the digital grid. Launching her official verified handle under @jlaw, the 36-year-old actress posted her very first Instagram Reel on Thursday, September 10, delivering a tongue-in-cheek ultimatum to prospective followers before the comment section even had a chance to warm up.
In the inaugural clip, Lawrence looked directly into the camera to lay down the ground rules for her social media presence.
“So yeah, I’m giving it a shot,” Lawrence began in the Reel.
“And if anyone says anything negative, I will quit immediately,” she playfully warned. “No, no questions asked.”
Building on the bit with her signature comic timing, she added, “If anyone thinks something mean, um…I’ll know. I’ll know. And I’ll quit.”
The actress also cleared up a minor technical detail in her profile bio, clarifying that she opted for the handle @jlaw simply because @jenniferlawrence had already been claimed by another user long before her arrival. Although rumored to make a brief cameo in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel film hitting theaters this November, Lawrence’s next major leading role will come in the feature adaptation What Happens at Night, scheduled for release next year.
