Jim Carrey is entering a new chapter — and this time, he’s sharing it publicly.
The 64-year-old actor stepped onto the stage at the 2026 Cesar Awards in Paris on Thursday (February 26) to accept an Honorary Prize, recognizing his decades-long contribution to film. The moment was already significant. But it became personal when Carrey used his speech to acknowledge someone special.
For the first time in a formal setting, Jim publicly thanked his longtime girlfriend, Minzi.
“Thank you to my wonderful family, my daughter Jane, and my grandson Jackson. I love you now and forever. Thank you to my sublime companion, Mina. I love you, Mina. And finally, thank you to the funniest man I have ever known: my father. Percy Joseph Carrey who taught me the value of love, generosity, and laughter,” Jim said during his speech (via Variety).
The phrasing — “my sublime companion” — was classic Carrey. Poetic, slightly whimsical, and deeply sincere.
Minzi, a Los Angeles-based actress and artist, attended the event alongside Jim, his daughter Jane, and his grandson Jackson. The family presence underscored what the night was really about: legacy, gratitude, and the people who anchor you beyond the spotlight.
While Jim and Minzi were first spotted together publicly in February 2022 during a night out in Los Angeles, they’ve largely kept their relationship private. It’s unclear exactly how long they’ve been dating, but this moment marks the clearest confirmation of their bond to date.
For an actor whose career has swung between rubber-faced comedy and introspective drama, this public acknowledgment felt measured and intentional.
