Josh Hutcherson has unintentionally stepped into the crossfire of Swiftie discourse — and the internet is fully divided. The Hunger Games star is catching heat after admitting he’s “not a Swiftie” despite attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour as a VIP guest, a moment he now knows fans have many feelings about.

The confession came during a playful round of “Camera Roll Roulette” for i-D Magazine, where Josh and his I Love LA co-star Jordan Firstman had to scroll through their camera rolls based on random prompts. When asked to pull up a photo using the keyword “club,” Josh revealed the surprising shot that popped up — a picture of him and his mom at Taylor’s blockbuster stadium tour.

“The only one I have in a club is like this picture that’s literally me and my mom at a Taylor Swift show,” he said, clarifying that the photo was snapped from the VIP section — prime real estate that diehard fans fight tooth and nail for.

Jordan, sensing an opportunity, immediately asked the question on everyone’s mind: “Are you a Swiftie?”

Josh’s answer? Honest enough to ruffle feathers.

“I’m not a Swiftie. Very much not. No shade, all respect, but definitely not… a little bit of shade.”

He even admitted he only attended because “my mom made me” — which, depending on who you ask, either softens the blow or makes the entire thing even more chaotic.

Swifties, unsurprisingly, had opinions. Some criticized Josh for taking a golden-ticket VIP spot when he wasn’t even a fan. Others defended him, applauding him for doing something solely to make his mom happy — the purest of millennial-son energy.

Still, the debate continues to swirl online, proving once again that mentioning Taylor Swift in any capacity is basically like lighting a match near a gasoline tank.

Meanwhile, fans will soon get a front-row seat to the Eras Tour even without the struggle of Ticketmaster queues. A brand-new concert recording is set to debut this week, giving Swifties everywhere one more reason to celebrate.

As for Josh? He may not be a Swiftie, but whether he likes it or not, he’s officially a part of the Swiftie cinematic universe now.
